    What is Gaelic Football?
It’s a combination of soccer and rugby, but with no tackling.
It takes stamina, so it will get you in shape, and we have enough people that we sub often until you get into shape.

You can read a bit more about the sport at the Gaelic Football Wikipedia page and even see Gaelic Footbal in action
    on YouTube.

  • Do you need experience?
  • Nope, about 80% of our players have never played before.

  • Do you need to be in shape?
  • To play scrimmages, no, but you will get there. When you come out to play with us, we take a lot of breaks and sub in and out until your stamina gets to be where it should be.

  • Can women play?
  • OF COURSE!!!

Womens football is very popular. There are many womens teams around the US. You can play with the boys. We will have the women guard each other, and there won’t be any hitting involved.

  • How much equipment do I need?
  • Not much, just cleats, and those aren’t really a necessity to play.

  • Does it cost anything?
  • Dues are $50 for the 2009 season.

  • Does it require a huge commitment?
  • No, just once a week, Tuesday evenings, and hopefully you can join us for the Irish Fair in August.  But if you can join us for the other tournaments, including a road trip to Kansas City in June, and the Nationals in Boston in August, that would be awesome!

  • How rough is it?
  • The defense is only slightly more rough than basketball.   The rules state that you can “harass” the ball carrier, but you can’t tackle, or hit. Usually only shoulder to shoulder bumps, and very rarely does someone even fall over.

  • Where do you practice?
  • We play every Tuesday from 6-8pm and have practices on Thursday nights.

See the Directions page for location and directions.

  • Where can I get a Gaelic Football of my own?
  • From Ireland, of course! O’Neills are the makers of the official Gaelic Football.  They ship quickly to the USA and a trainer is available for about USD40 including shipping.  Visit their site and get yourself the real deal today!
